Region: Tây Nguyên
Processing Method: Washed
Our Vietnam Robusta coffee beans come from Tây Nguyên, the Central Highlands region where most of Vietnam’s coffee is grown. Vietnam is the world’s largest producer of Robusta coffee. This lot is washed, which gives a cleaner cup than typical natural-processed Robusta while keeping the strength, dense body, and high caffeine content Robusta is known for. These beans deliver a bold cup with low acidity and a powerful structure. Flavor notes include dark chocolate, roasted nuts, cocoa bitterness, and earthy undertones with a lingering, slightly smoky finish. The result is a heavy, full-bodied coffee that stands out in both straight espresso and blended applications.
These beans undergo an additional mechanical cleaning step known as polishing, where residual silver skin is gently removed after milling. This process creates a cleaner bean appearance, reduces chaff during roasting, and promotes more consistent roast development. At a medium roast, Vietnam Robusta produces thick crema in espresso, strong structure in blends, and excellent depth in milk-based drinks. It is also well-suited for traditional Vietnamese phin brewing, cold brew, and high caffeine coffee blends.
